Quarterly
Spotlight Award (1st Quarter 2007):
Benjamin Pratt, Hydrologist |
|
Ben
was recognized for his extraordinary efforts in flood and ice monitoring
and response. Although Ben began serving as SRBC’s point person

become an expert in many aspects ranging from flood inundation mapping
and gaging networks to emergency operations and ice monitoring.
He helped coordinate proposed improvements to inundation mapping
and gaging in the Upper Susquehanna subbasin, traveled up and down
the river monitoring and reporting on ice conditions during its
breakup in early March, put in overnight and weekend shifts at Pennsylvania’s
Emergency Operations Center, where he provided valuable interpretations
of National Weather Service forecasts and river conditions to PEMA
staff, and helped with public education and outreach activities.
