Optimizing Use of Curwensville Lake Water Supply Storage

The Susquehanna River Basin Commission completed technical investigations for optimizing the use of water supply storage owned by SRBC at Curwensville Lake, Pennsylvania. Based on the findings of the investigations, SRBC applied to the Baltimore District, U. S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), in May 2012 for a change in operations of the water supply storage.

USACE operates Curwensville Lake and is evaluating SRBC’s application. As part of the evaluation process, the USACE has prepared an environmental assessment (EA). The EA, which cites SRBC’s technical investigations as a reference, was recently released by the USACE for public review.
