September 14 Commission Meeting

The Commission held its
September 14 meeting in Cooperstown, N.Y., with Col. Frank Kosich, Federal
Alternate Commissioner, chairing the meeting. Joining Col. Kosich were Md.
Commissioner Ken Philbrick, N.Y. Alternate Commissioner Ken Lynch and
Pa. Alternate Commissioner Bill Gast. During the meeting, the commissioners:
- heard staff presentation on the basin's hydrologic conditions
- discussed and accepted staff's report on the Agricultural Consumptive Use
Study
- approved grants for water quality work under Section 106 of the Clean Water
Act and to prepare Total Maximum Daily Loads for certain waterbodies
- approved Commission involvement in a joint project called "Science in Motion"
- accepted a $43,000 settlement agreement offered by the Lucas-Beierschmitt
Partnership, dba Windsor Heights Golf Course
- approved 10 water withdrawal and/or consumptive use applications
