SRBC’S Proposed Changes Affecting Natural Gas Drillers and Energy Projects Open for Public Comments
SRBC is taking public comments until August 15 on proposed regulatory revisions [click for regulations] to streamline the use of SRBC-approved water for natural gas drilling in the Marcellus and other shale formations. The proposed revisions also clarify that large energy projects requiring federal licensing must obtain SRBC approval. Read More

Projects Approved at June 18 SRBC Meeting

At the June 18 Business meeting in Binghamton, New York, SRBC approved 27 applications for water withdrawals and/or consumptive water uses, tabled seven projects, approved two diversions and rescinded one project. Read More.
